Susan Edquist

North Carolina landscapes, florals, and still lifes.

Oil, watercolor and giclees

Susan Edquist came to North Carolina via Maryland and London, England. She graduated magna cum laude in fine arts from the University of Maryland. After completing her BA degree she began creating decorative arts and textile designs. Her unique business, Designs in Textile, was well received in juried exhibitions in the Washington, DC, area. After a number of years Susan moved from her business into other career positions in Washington which prohibited her from focusing on her love of the visual arts. In 1999, the artist moved to London and once again focused on her painting. She worked in watercolor under the guidance of the Chelsea artist, Albany Wiseman. Since making her home at Sleepy Cat Cottage in Pinehurst, North Carolina, the artist has studied and worked in watercolors, dry pastels, oil pastels, and oils. Her work is representational ranging from an impressionistic style to detailed realism. Susan regularly enters juried exhibitions in which she has received awards and recognition. Her paintings are in collections across the United States and in the E.U. So that her art may be enjoyed by many, the artist also produces her own archival fine art reproductions and hand made cards.
