Kimberly Wheaton-Kimberly creates art that explores symbols, movement, mystery, and connects with spiritual and natural themes. She uses watercolors, acrylics and oils, and often incorporates origami and crepe papers, collage, block prints, and found objects. Recently she has been building three-dimensional shrines and spirit houses inspired by the Thai tradition. She also does commissioned paintings and portraits as well as large-scale interior murals. Before devoting herself full-time to art, Kimberly received a degree in environmental studies from the University of Michigan. She worked on conservation issues across the southeast US for The Nature Conservancy for many years. Kimberly lives with her husband and two young children in Durham, North Carolina.
